#WCS40-The Great Exchange
In light of the reading from Day 12 of #wcs40, I’d like to recommend shai linne’s song, Justified, from his Solus Christus Project LP. Enjoy, and if you are indeed IN Christ, Praise God this morning. IT…IS…..A….MIRACLE!! Take a few minutes and meditate on what it means to be Justified. Here’s the text of Chapter 11 of the Westminster Confession as well....
The Perfect Prayer
singleye:
Have you ever went to pray for a friend and found yourself fumbling over words, knowing your forgetting some important aspect of their suffering that you should be praying for?
Well, if you have tasted the goodness of being in the family of God, you have a friend whom knows the exact prayer for your every suffering…
Hebrews 2:17 describes how: “therefore he had to be made like his...

Be Forreal Tuesdays...This week; a ridiculous... →
So I was hipped to (like that?) this article today on Twitter. Each line I read made it more and more clear that this writer would be a landslide victor in today’s Be Forreal post. I will allow her to speak for herself, though, and just quote one of her sentiments [click post title to read entire article]:
“And it’s your problem, too, if you happen to object to an anti-abortion...
#wcs40-Our Deep Need as Consistent Mark-Missers
Westminster Larger Catechism (all emphases mine) Q. 55. How doth Christ make intercession? A. Christ maketh intercession, by his appearing in our nature continually before the Father in heaven, in the merit of his obedience and sacrifice on earth, declaring his will to have it applied to all believers; answering all accusations against them, and procuring for them quiet of conscience,...
#wcs40-The Awe-Inspiring Grace of God in Christ
Day 9, and I was left mainly thinking about…. Amazing Grace Lyrics “Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me…. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see. T’was Grace that taught… my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear… the hour I first believed. ...
#WCS40-Indwelling Sin is a Beast, But God in...
So as I read the Westminster Confession for Day 6, I couldn’t help but be reminded of 2 Things; Romans chapters 7,8 and Paul’s apparent recognition/struggle with Indwelling sin & Lecrae’s song “Indwelling Sin.” Below, as you read day 6 for yourself, the section that jumped out is in red. Through Paul’s recognition of indwelling sin, he still had this to...
How come noone told me about Mark Arthur?? SMH
Now this is a video of a song called “Gain,” by a gent named Mark Arthur. I feel like I should be chastised for not hearing of him before now. By random chance, I ran into this video on youtube while checking out some other Christian MC’s. This is very very nice. The track is banging, and Arthur’s flow is hot. Actually, I am really amped for what 2010 has in store for...

#wcs40, 5:5
5. The most wise, righteous, and gracious God doth oftentimes leave, for a season, his own children to manifold temptations, and the corruption of their own hearts, to chastise them for their former sins, or to discover unto them the hidden strength of corruption and deceitfulness of their hearts, that they may be humbled; and, to raise them to a more close and constant dependence for their...

Tiger Woods – Treating Sin As A Disease « →
I got this from a Brother, Joel Taylor, over at his blog “5 Pt. Salt.” It really does a great job of shedding light on what has become an epidemic in the world at large. Namely, sin-as-disease. Enjoy the read. *Click title of post to read story

– Burk_Parsons
This is really tragic to see. We need to understand that the murder of babies is big business, and it sees its highest profits from the poorest of our nation. The inner city, poor communities are actually targets of abortionists. They’d rather bullseye than befriend....

Yes!! My wife and I have been longing for a Kabob spot in Culpeper, since we so love Kabob City in Fredericksburg. Finally, we have Deema’s. If you’re in the Culpeper area, check it out. I’m ordering lunch from there today, but if you’ve already eaten there, let me know what you think!

John Lennon's Unintentional Truth: This week's "Be...
“Imagine there’s no Heaven, It’s Easy if you try. No hell below us, above us only sky.”
—Unconsciously perhaps, John is admitting to the reality of both Heaven and Hell. In order to spend time imagining something is not there, it must be there in the first place.
Because of this, John Lennon is the 1st recipient of the Tuesday “Be Forreal!” post.

good news for "Us" and "Them" ...
simplyseth:
I’m still a bit bothered about Pat Robertson’s proclamation about Haiti. I cant help but feel that there is a bit of “us” (blessed America the so called, but not really Christian nation) and “them” (the wild savages of Haiti) mentality going on.
It would be good for us to restrict the “us” and “them” mentality to those who proclaim the biblical gospel and those who distort it.
When...
praise amidst tragedy
simplyseth:
Here is what some Haitians are singing in the midst of the disaster.
“It doesn’t mean anything if Satan hates me, because God loves me,” sing the women at Jeremy Square, their faces almost invisible in the darkness of this powerless, shattered downtown. “God has already paid my debt.”

Ahhhhh, yes. I just got introduced to a pipe by my esteemed brother in Christ, @joeholland, and thought I’d peruse the internets to find a “guide.” I found pipesmokingguide.com and checked it out. Why we don't actually "give God glory"
Westminster Confession: Read the first section of 2:2 of WCS with me….
2. God hath all life, glory, goodness, blessedness, in and of himself; and is alone in and unto himself all-sufficient, not standing in need of any creatures which he hath made, nor deriving any glory from them, but only manifesting his own glory in, by, unto, and upon them.
The part there in bold italics ROCKED me this...
What the Light of Nature, Creation, and Providence...
So today’s the beginning of a 40 Day reading of The Westminster Standards by myself and some other Brethren. Starting with the first chapter concerning the Word of God, I expected much of what I read to mirror what I already knew about Scripture. Namely, it’s authority, and its truth and power. This was true, yet I was paused in my reading and driven to contemplation, almost...
Not only has H&M decided men would look good in... →
Now we are proving even nominal prophets right. Men, skirts, done. Seems like the de-evolution of gender cues…Saddening, yet not totally unexpected. Please tell me this trend is stuck behind the walls of H&M stores, and hasn’t made it out to other outlets. Do you know? Sound off about what appears to be horrible news for manly men everywhere. Skinny jeans and Skirts. The...

Joe Thorn has a magnificent idea here, one that may or may not have originated with him. Click the title here to read about it, but I’m intrigued with “Theology Pub” on a number of different levels. I think the idea, motivation, and potential outcomes are great! As we are thinking of ways to engage the culture we’re placed in by God’s providence, let’s not...

nexusonenews:
There’s been a lot written about Google’s new Nexus One since it’s launch a week ago. Some tech sites seem to have have a clear agenda to rubbish the device, whilst others are giving it more positive reviews. We thought we’d lend a Nexus One to a typical user for a week to find out what they think of the device.
